A section of the Druzhba oil pipeline has been destroyed in the Tambov region
A powerful explosion occurred in the Tambov region of Russia on a section of the Druzhba oil pipeline, which continues to supply Russian oil to several European countries.
It is these supplies that ensure a stable replenishment of the aggressor state's budget and the financing of its military complex.
The incident occurred near the village of Kazinskie Vysilki on the branch of the pipeline connecting Taganrog and Lipetsk.
According to sources in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the explosion was the result of a targeted attack on a strategic facility.
Remote-controlled explosives supplemented with a special combustible mixture were used for the explosion to ensure prolonged burning and maximum damage to the infrastructure.
According to intelligence reports, the aim of the operation was to disable a key element of the oil transport system that fills the Russian budget.
Residents of the surrounding areas immediately reported the explosion on social media. Witnesses recorded bright flashes on the horizon and a loud rumble that could be heard several kilometres away.
After the explosion, local social media feeds were filled with reports of a large-scale fire, which rescuers tried to extinguish for several hours.
