In Tuapse, an oil terminal has been on fire for five days following a drone attack
A massive fire continues to rage at an oil terminal in the Russian city of Tuapse, which broke out following a strike by Ukrainian drones on April 16. Firefighters have been unable to fully extinguish the blaze for several days now.
This was reported by Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, on Telegram.
Kovalenko published photos from the scene. The images show thick plumes of smoke and active burning on the facility’s grounds.
According to sources, at least two oil tanks caught fire following the drone attack on the night of April 16. Russian services attempted to contain the fire for several days but were unable to fully extinguish it.

As of now, smoke and pockets of fire continue to be observed on the terminal grounds, indicating that the facility’s infrastructure is still burning.
As a reminder, activity at the port of Tuapse has halved over the past 24 hours compared to average levels due to the risk of drone attacks. Only three vessels entered the port, including one oil tanker.
Residents of the Russian city of Tuapse are increasingly complaining about the unbearable living conditions in the frontline city. The once-popular resort has turned into an area of environmental disaster and constant danger due to regular explosions at local industrial facilities.
On the night of April 20, Ukrainian defense forces successfully attacked a number of strategic targets, including an oil refinery in Tuapse and two large amphibious assault ships in occupied Sevastopol.
