Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia kills a woman, massive fire breaks out

On the night of April 15, Russian forces carried out an attack on Zaporizhzhia. As a result of the strike, a large fire broke out in one of the residential areas. There are dead and injured.

This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, on Telegram.

“The enemy is attacking Zaporizhzhia. As a result of shelling in one of the residential areas, a fire broke out. The alert is ongoing. Stay in safe places until it is over,” he noted.

According to Fedorov, civilian infrastructure facilities came under attack. In particular, a parking lot caught fire; a business, a public transport stop, a kiosk, and nearby residential buildings were also damaged.

“Around 5 a.m., the enemy struck Zaporizhzhia. As a result of the shelling, a parking lot, a business, a stop, nearby residential buildings, and a kiosk were damaged,” the regional head reported.

As a result of the attack, a 74-year-old kiosk vendor was killed. According to preliminary information, there are also injured people.

It is known that during the night attack, air defense forces were operating in the city. The fires that broke out after the shelling had already been extinguished by the morning.

From the evening of April 14, Russian forces carried out a large-scale attack on Ukraine, using three Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 324 drones of various types. Air defense forces neutralized most of the targets, but hits were also recorded.

In the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, law enforcement officers discovered the warhead of a Russian Iskander-K missile. Controlled destruction of the munition is planned at the site.

On the night of April 15, in Dnipro and the surrounding region, three people were injured as a result of Russian drone strikes, and damage to civilian infrastructure was recorded.

On the evening of April 14, Russian forces carried out a strike with guided aerial bombs on the Kharkiv region. Four hits were recorded in the territory of the Malodanylivka community. Civilian infrastructure and vehicles were damaged, and there are casualties among local residents. Medics are providing assistance to the injured.

Russian forces also attacked an industrial facility in Zaporizhzhia on the evening of April 14. A fire broke out at the site, and explosions were heard in different parts of the city. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.

The mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, stated that anti-drone nets cannot protect the city from the main threats — Shahed drones, guided aerial bombs, and ballistic missiles.
