In Zaporizhzhia, an enemy drone struck a Ukrzaliznytsia electric locomotive
Russian occupation forces carried out yet another targeted strike against Ukraine’s civilian railway infrastructure. On Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Zaporizhzhia, an enemy strike drone struck a Ukrzaliznytsia electric locomotive directly.
Tragic consequences and casualties among railway workers were avoided thanks to the professional and coordinated work of the company’s monitoring team. The aerial threat was detected in time, allowing for the prompt emergency evacuation of personnel. At the moment the enemy drone struck the locomotive, the entire train crew was already in a safe bomb shelter; as a result of the explosion, no one was injured.
The relevant ministry emphasized that Russia continues to carry out systematic aerial attacks against Ukraine’s railway system, attempting to disrupt logistics and passenger services. Representatives of the ministry once again urged citizens, passengers, and transportation workers not to ignore air raid sirens under any circumstances, to strictly follow established safety protocols, and to immediately take cover in the event of a threat.
