The Main Intelligence Directorate has identified those responsible for the shelling of the ATB supermarket in Chernihiv
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has determined that the Russian combat group No. 3 of the “Grom ‘Cascade’” Separate Unmanned Aviation Brigade was carried out by a unit of Russian Combat Group No. 3 of the “GROM ‘Kaskad’” Separate Unmanned Aviation Brigade.
According to intelligence reports, Russian military personnel used a jet-powered drone equipped with a video camera for the strike; it was launched from a Russian drone base in the village of Navlya in the Bryansk region.
The Main Intelligence Directorate emphasizes that the “GROM ‘Kaskad’” brigade, which is part of the Russian Armed Forces’ Aerospace Forces, has a specific reputation. This unit is considered a hub for the so-called “elite” caste of Russian society—it includes officials, lawmakers, regional bureaucrats, and other representatives of “privileged” social strata. For them, serving in this brigade is a way to obtain the status of a war veteran without having to be physically present in an active combat zone, as they sign short-term contracts and carry out remote attacks, including on civilian targets in Ukraine.
Ukrainian intelligence agencies are already working to identify all those who directly carried out the attacks and those involved in the tragedy. It is worth noting that as early as 2025, the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) released information about the commander of this brigade—war criminal Ruslan Mykolayovych Negrub. Currently, all the evidence gathered will be used to bring those responsible to criminal justice for yet another war crime against the civilian population of Ukraine.
