A man was killed in Kherson by an explosion of a "Petal" anti-personnel mine

A fatal incident involving a civilian occurred in the Korabelny District of Kherson. A man found a “Pelyustka” (PFM-1) pressure-activated anti-personnel mine and picked it up, after which the device immediately detonated. 

The victim died at the scene from his injuries; law enforcement officials are currently working to identify him.

The head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, expressed his condolences to the victim’s family and once again emphasized the high risk of landmines in the region. The regional head urged residents to exercise extreme caution, under no circumstances to touch suspicious objects, and to immediately report such findings to emergency services by calling 101 or 102.
