Assassination of Ukrainian soldier prevented in Zaporizhzhia
In Zaporizhzhia, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), together with the National Police, detained an FSB agent who attempted to carry out a contract killing of a Ukrainian Armed Forces officer.

The targeted officer was undergoing rehabilitation after a serious injury sustained on the frontline. Acting on orders from Russian intelligence, the perpetrator tried to eliminate the soldier using a carefully prepared trap.
According to the investigation, the FSB agent lured the Ukrainian officer into an industrial area of the city by organizing a fake “date” via a dating website. The soldier believed he would meet a woman, but instead the attacker, wearing a balaclava, was waiting at the location.
The killer approached the man from behind and stabbed him six times, targeting his neck, chest, abdomen, and leg.
After the attack, the assailant fled, attempting to hide with relatives, but was later detained by SBU officers. The wounded officer was urgently hospitalized in the intensive care unit of a local hospital. Doctors reported that his condition remains serious, but he is receiving all necessary medical treatment.
Earlier, the SBU prevented a series of terrorist attacks in four Ukrainian cities.
