Drone strike on train in Kharkiv region: two people reported injured
In Kharkiv region, a passenger train operating on the Chop–Barvinkove route came under enemy attack near one of the stations in the Barvinkove community of Izium district. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out — one carriage caught fire, while another sustained partial damage.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).
According to preliminary information, two people were injured. Rescue units and a fire-fighting train are working at the scene. Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the shelling are ongoing.
In Kharkiv, the number of people injured as a result of a massive overnight drone attack on 24 January has risen to 27.
Earlier, during the daytime on 19 January, Russian forces carried out strikes on Kharkiv using guided aerial bombs.
