Strike on Oil Refinery in Ufa: What Is Known About the Facility
Based on the analysis of photos and videos from local residents, the strike hit the Bashneft–Novoil refinery, which is part of the structure of Rosneft. The enterprise specializes in the production of high-octane gasoline, motor and industrial oils, aviation and jet fuel, diesel, bitumen, and other petroleum products.
This was reported by Russian pro-government media.
The refinery’s capacity is about 7.3 million tons of oil per year. According to available footage, the strike targeted the area of the AVT-5 unit — a key element of the oil refining process.
Two other facilities — Bashneft–Ufaneftekhim and Bashneft–UNPZ — are located near Bashneft–Novoil, making the northern industrial zone of Ufa one of the largest oil refining centers in Russia.
Earlier, on March 22, this industrial zone had already been attacked by drones, which also caused a fire. On March 21, two drones hit an unfinished high-rise building near the industrial facilities.
It should be recalled that drones attacked the Bashneft oil refinery in Ufa, causing a large-scale fire.
It should also be recalled that on the night of March 26, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the Kirishi oil refinery in the city of Kirishi, Leningrad region of the Russian Federation.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a successful fire strike on a strategically important fuel and energy infrastructure facility of the Russian Federation. The target was the Bashneft–Ufaneftekhim refinery, located in the city of Ufa at a distance of about 1,400 kilometers from the state border of Ukraine.
