Strikes deep inside Russian territory targeting oil infrastructure will intensify, says Madyar

Strikes on oil infrastructure within Russian territory will continue to intensify.

This was stated in an interview with the BBC by Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces.

Oil refineries are legitimate military targets because they fund the war against Ukraine.

“If oil refineries are a tool for making money that is used for the war, then they are legitimate military targets and must be destroyed,” Brovdi said.

He also noted that the Unmanned Systems Forces units make up about 2% of the Ukrainian army but account for approximately one-third of all targets struck.

According to the commander, an area deep within Russian territory at a distance of 1,500–2,000 km can no longer be considered a “safe rear.”

“The territory 1,500–2,000 km deep inside Russia is no longer a ‘peaceful rear,’” he emphasized.

Brovdi also stated that Ukrainian drones are capable of operating deep within enemy territory, and strikes are directed at facilities that support the Russian war machine.

“Putin is extracting natural resources and turning them into blood money, which he then directs against us in the form of ‘Shaheds’ and ballistic missiles,” he added.

Russians are “in an uproar” over yet another attack on oil facilities in the city of Tuapse. Following a series of successful strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the local oil refinery, local residents have begun actively criticizing the authorities at all levels.

Earlier, official results were released regarding the damage to Russian strategic facilities in Tuapse and Yaroslavl.

Residents of Tuapse, Russia, are increasingly complaining about the unbearable living conditions in the frontline city. The once-popular resort has turned into an area of environmental disaster and constant danger due to regular explosions at local industrial facilities.

In Tuapse, Russia, while cleaning up the aftermath of an oil spill, the city beach was covered with a new layer of pebbles. At the same time, local residents and environmentalists claim that traces of fuel oil are still visible near the water and that a full cleanup has not taken place.
