Ufa came under attack by drones; air defense systems were active in the city
On the morning of September 23, Russian air defenses were actively engaged over Ufa in Bashkortostan amid a drone attack. According to preliminary reports, no confirmed strikes have been recorded in the city so far.
According to reports from the scene, the drones remained in the airspace over the city for an extended period, while Russian air defense systems attempted to intercept them. At the same time, information regarding the consequences of the attack remains incomplete.
Ufa’s industrial zone is of great importance to the region. It is home to three oil refineries, including “Bashneft-UNPZ,” which had already been targeted by drones on September 22. At that time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the facility had been struck and a fire had broken out on its grounds.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that overnight, air defense forces allegedly shot down 514 drones over regions of the Russian Federation. According to the ministry, drones were shot down, in particular, over Bashkortostan, as well as over other regions of Russia and the waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
