Ukraine demands the return of all prisoners and children be included in the Peace Plan

Kyiv, together with the United States, is refining a peace plan in which Ukraine demands specific provisions for the release of all prisoners of war and the return of Ukrainian children deported by Russia.

President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that this involves an “all for all” exchange formula so that no Ukrainian remains in Russian captivity.

A separate focus is placed on the full return of children who were illegally taken from temporarily occupied territories.

According to him, the Ukrainian side is working with partners to find compromise formulations that do not weaken Ukraine’s position, but rather strengthen it in negotiations.

Zelensky outlined these priorities during the Fourth Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform, where the issue of Russia’s responsibility and the de-occupation of Crimea remains central.

He noted that a great deal of informational noise and deliberate political pressure is already emerging around potential agreements.

In the President’s view, the Kremlin is attempting to impose a logic on the world according to which the principles of territorial integrity and state sovereignty can supposedly be ignored.

That is why Ukraine insists that any peace plan must clearly enshrine respect for its internationally recognized borders.

Separately, Zelensky called on parliamentary participants of the Crimea Platform to support a decision to transfer frozen Russian assets to Ukraine.

At the same time, Russia is openly rejecting the U.S. peace plan regarding Ukraine.
