Ukraine has launched a series of strikes on Russian military targets

Ukraine has launched a series of strikes on Russian military targets

Ukrainian defense forces have launched new strikes against Russian military targets in the temporarily occupied territories and in regions bordering the Russian Federation. The strikes hit ammunition depots, command posts, logistics centers, and troop concentrations.

The results of a previous attack in the area of occupied Mariupol, where eight fuel tanks were destroyed, have also been confirmed.

The General Staff reported that on June 8 and during the night of June 9, the Ukrainian military carried out a series of strikes on key targets of the Russian occupation forces. One of the main targets was an ammunition depot in the Prokhorovka area of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. It is precisely such facilities that supply Russian troops with shells and ammunition for combat operations.

In addition, several enemy command posts were targeted. These include facilities in the Mykilskyi and Shevchenko-Pershyi districts of Donetsk Oblast, Naumivka in the Belgorod Oblast, and Iskra in the Kursk Oblast of Russia. Such command posts are used to coordinate troop movements, transmit orders, and manage units on the front lines.

Separately, Ukrainian forces attacked the occupiers’ drone command posts. Strikes were recorded in the Shevchenko-Pershyi area in Donetsk Oblast, Zaliznychne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and Oleshky in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson Oblast. In recent months, drones have become one of the Russian army’s primary tools on the front lines. Destroying these command posts helps reduce the number of drone attacks on Ukrainian positions and cities.

The Ukrainian military also targeted enemy logistics facilities. An occupiers’ logistics hub was struck in the Fedorivka area of Donetsk Oblast. It is through such hubs that the Russian army transports ammunition, fuel, equipment, and other necessary resources. Additionally, strikes were carried out on logistics depots in the areas of Mykhailivka in Luhansk Oblast and Hyunivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Disrupting logistics is traditionally considered one of the most effective ways to weaken the enemy’s combat capabilities. Locations where Russian troops were stationed were also targeted. According to the General Staff, strikes were recorded in the areas of Kurakhove, Kalynove, Shevchenko, and Stupochky in the Donetsk region; Novohryhorivka in the Zaporizhzhia region; and Iskra in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

Such areas typically house reserves, equipment, or personnel preparing for further combat operations. Information regarding enemy losses is currently being verified. Separately, the General Staff reported on the results of a previous strike on the area around the port of Mariupol.

Following an additional inspection, it was confirmed that eight fuel storage tanks were completely destroyed during the attack on June 5. Another nine tanks sustained damage of varying degrees. Fuel is one of the most critical resources for the army, as without it, armored vehicles, trucks, support systems, and parts of the military infrastructure cannot operate.

That is why strikes on such facilities not only inflict material damage on the enemy but also create additional difficulties in supplying troops. The General Staff emphasizes that the Ukrainian military will continue to systematically attack key military facilities of the Russian army. “The Ukrainian defense forces will continue to systematically reduce the Russian aggressor’s ability to wage war against Ukraine,” the agency emphasized.

The Ukrainian command has repeatedly stated that strikes on warehouses, logistics facilities, command posts, and troop locations remain one of the key areas of focus to weaken Russian offensive capabilities.

On the morning of June 9, a BMW X3 exploded in Balashikha, near Moscow, killing the driver. The incident occurred in the Aviatorov neighborhood on Koldunova Street.

In the city of Balashikha, Moscow Region, a high-ranking military officer—Russian Army Colonel Damir Davydov—was killed when his own vehicle was detonated. The occupier headed the department for the supply of missiles and artillery ammunition within the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense
