Kremlin says Russia has not yet achieved all its goals in the war against Ukraine

The Kremlin has stated that Russia has not yet achieved all of its stated objectives in the war against Ukraine, and therefore the aggression will continue, although Moscow allegedly remains open to a diplomatic solution.

This was said by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, as quoted by Russian media.

According to him, one of the main goals of the war, as described by the Kremlin, is the occupation of parts of Ukrainian territory, which Moscow claims is aimed at “ensuring the security” of residents of Donbas. At the same time, Peskov acknowledged that Russia has not yet fully achieved these objectives, and therefore the so-called “special military operation” continues.

He also stated that Moscow supposedly remains open to ending the war through political and diplomatic means.

Peskov further accused Ukraine and Western countries of prolonging the war, claiming that what began as aggression against Ukraine has since turned into a confrontation with Western states.

Meanwhile, Kyrylo Budanov said that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are approaching a stage where the sides will have to make final decisions.

US President Donald Trump, speaking at the first meeting of the “Peace Council,” said that Russia’s war against Ukraine, which he described as “the most brutal,” is approaching a settlement.
