Number of injured in Odesa rises to 22 following Russian strike

On the night of 27 January, Russian forces carried out a large-scale attack using strike drones against Odesa. Residential buildings almost in the city centre, in the Khadzhibei district, came under fire.

This was reported on Telegram by the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhii Lysak.

The overnight attack caused significant destruction to residential areas and social infrastructure. The number of injured exceeded two dozen. As of the time of publication, no fatalities had been reported.

The shelling damaged an infrastructure facility, multi-storey residential buildings, a kindergarten, a shop and a construction site. Strikes hit several locations simultaneously, resulting in fires and severe destruction.

According to official data, 22 people were injured in the attack. Fourteen of them sustained minor injuries and were examined by medics at the scene. Others required additional medical assistance.

All emergency services began work immediately after the first reports of impacts and continue to deal with the aftermath of the attack.

Operational headquarters have been deployed at the affected sites to coordinate assistance to those impacted. Municipal services are working to eliminate damage and ensure safety.

Residents of the destroyed buildings are being assisted with preparing documents to receive compensation under the state “eVidnovlennia” recovery programme, as well as from the city budget. Information on the consequences of the attack is still being уточнено and may be updated.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, 27 January, Russian forces struck an infrastructure facility in Lviv Region.

The day before, Russian troops carried out another missile strike on critical infrastructure in Kharkiv Region, causing large-scale emergency power outages in a number of settlements.

On the evening of 26 January 2026, the Russian army attacked Kharkiv and settlements in the region with ballistic missiles, leading to widespread power cuts and the destruction of civilian facilities.

In Kharkiv, the number of people injured as a result of the massive overnight drone attack on 24 January rose to 27.

During the daytime on 19 January, Russian forces struck Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs.
