In Orenburg, drones struck an OZON warehouse

In Orenburg, drones attacked the OZON marketplace’s logistics complex. After debris fell onto the warehouse grounds, a fire broke out, and the company evacuated more than 300 employees and temporarily suspended the acceptance of deliveries.

The attack took place in Orenburg within the “Orenburg Region” special economic zone, where industrial and logistics facilities are located. Orenburg Mayor Albert Yumadilov stated that Russian air defense forces allegedly shot down several drones over the special economic zone. According to him, debris from one of them fell onto the grounds of the OZON logistics complex. “Debris fell onto the grounds of the OZON logistics complex, causing a fire that was quickly extinguished by employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations,” Yumadilov said.

In eyewitness footage analyzed by ASTRA’s OSINT analysts, a fire truck can be seen heading toward the OZON warehouse. However, the exact circumstances of the attack and the cause of the drone’s crash have not been officially clarified.

What is known about the warehouse

This is the large OZON logistics complex. The company launched the first phase of the facility in August 2024. Its area was approximately 40,000 square meters. Following the attack, more than 300 employees were evacuated from the warehouse. The company has also temporarily suspended the acceptance of new shipments at this logistics center.

OZON reported that the goods stored in the warehouse will be temporarily removed from the marketplace’s product listings. This means that some products may be unavailable for order until operations at the complex resume.

This is the second attack in two days

The Orenburg complex became the second OZON facility to be attacked by drones within two days. Thus, the attacks have affected the logistics infrastructure of one of Russia’s largest marketplaces. Currently, there are reports of a fire at the warehouse in Orenburg, the evacuation of employees, and a temporary suspension of deliveries.

There are no reports of fatalities or injuries resulting from this attack in the available reports. This is according to Russian media.
