Belgorod in Russia was left without power after a thermal power plant was shelled
Following another attack on the city’s thermal power station, Belgorod again lost electricity, according to Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
Nearly 60,000 residents of the city were left without power. The governor noted that fully switching the Belgorod agglomeration to backup generation is “physically impossible,” despite the region having a “huge reserve” of backup capacity.
Additionally, some buildings lost water and heating, worsening conditions for local residents.
Earlier, authorities in Bryansk region and Belgorod region confirmed that attacks on energy infrastructure had left parts of their regions without electricity.
