Russian attacks are intensifying in the southern sector, but Ukrainian forces are holding their ground and, in some places, regaining control of their positions.
This was reported by Vladislav Voloshin, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.
According to him, the occupiers are increasing the number of combat engagements and actively using aircraft and drones. Over the past 24 hours alone, 26 airstrikes were recorded.
The enemy is most active in the Huliaipole and Oleksandrivka sectors. Settlements near the front line are under attack, particularly Komyshuvakha in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Voloshin noted that the situation remains difficult, but the Defense Forces are acting confidently and inflicting losses on the enemy.
He emphasized that despite the intensity of the attacks, there is currently no basis for claiming enemy successes in the south.
Total combat losses of Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as of April 24, 2026, amount to approximately 1,323,460 personnel. Over the past 24 hours alone, another 910 soldiers were lost.
Ukrainian drones destroyed three Russian anti-aircraft missile systems in a single night in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. The "Tor-M2" and "Osa" systems were hit and were unable to effectively repel the attack. The operation demonstrated that Russian air defense systems do not always manage to respond even at the moment their own missiles are launched.
