Video: Special Operations Forces soldiers cleared the forest where Russian soldiers were hiding
Operators from Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces cleared a mined forest area that had long been used by Russian troops as cover. After the operation was completed, Ukrainian units were able to consolidate their positions.
Servicemen of the 3rd Regiment of the Special Operations Forces carried out a successful operation to clear a forested area in an unnamed sector, where Russian troops had been hiding for a long time and had prevented Ukrainian units from securing that area. This was reported on Friday, July 24, on the Special Operations Forces’ page.
According to the post, the operation was complicated by dense vegetation and a significant number of mine-and-explosive barriers. As a result, aerial reconnaissance and other methods of locating the enemy were unable to determine their exact whereabouts for a long time.
To complete the mission, the special forces operatives applied their skills in overcoming engineering obstacles, terrain navigation, and covert movement. As a result, they were able to locate the Russian positions and relay their coordinates to the crews of strike drones.
After the drone strikes, a second Special Operations Forces group conducted a sweep of the area. At the abandoned Russian positions, the troops discovered weapons, ammunition, and other military equipment left behind. In addition, the special forces conducted follow-up reconnaissance and cleared the area of mines, enabling Ukrainian forces to secure a section of territory that had previously been inaccessible.
Earlier, Zelenskyy reported on the casualties following a ballistic missile strike in the Kyiv region.
