Video: Drones attacked Belgorod and destroyed a university building where UAVs were being tested

On the night of August 3, drones attacked the Russian city of Belgorod, after which a massive fire broke out in one of the buildings of the local technical university. The destroyed building was being used for testing unmanned aerial vehicles.

The first reports of explosions emerged around 2:00 a.m. Local residents and monitoring groups reported a series of loud “booms” in the city. It later became known that the target of the strike was a building at the Belgorod State Technological University named after Shukhov (BSTU).

According to OSINT sources, the building was attacked; local residents reported that unmanned aerial vehicles were being assembled and tested there.

The “Pepel” channel reported that two drones struck the BGTU building. According to the source, it was in this part of the university that drones were being developed and tested. As a result of the strikes, the building was completely gutted by fire.

According to preliminary reports, two plumes of smoke rose simultaneously in Belgorod following the strikes. The first was directly above the Belgorod State Technical University building. The second was observed in the Kreida neighborhood—this roughly corresponds to the direction from which smoke had previously been reported on Volchanskaya Street.

This was reported by the monitoring channels “Pepel Belgorod, Exilenova+, and Astra.

On the night of August 1, drones attacked several temporarily occupied cities in Ukraine. According to reports from monitoring Telegram channels, fires broke out in Zugres, Berdyansk, Luhansk, Dolzhansk, and Sevastopol following the strikes.

As a reminder, the Russian online marketplace Ozon evacuated employees from its logistics center in Zelenodolsk (Tatarstan) due to the threat of an attack by Ukrainian drones. After the alert was lifted, the warehouse resumed normal operations.

On the morning of July 31, drones attacked a warehouse complex in Zelenodolsk (Tatarstan, Russian Federation), where the logistics facilities of the Ozon and Wildberries marketplaces are located. Following this, a number of Ukrainian sources reported that strikes on Ozon warehouses might continue.
