Video: Two More Russian Oil Refineries Have Halted Operations Following Drone Attacks

As of September 25, two more Russian oil refineries had suspended oil processing following drone attacks. These are the Kuibyshev Refinery in the Samara Region and the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Products Plant in the Rostov Region.

 

According to Reuters, citing industry sources, Rosneft’s Kuibyshev Refinery halted fuel production on September 22. During the attack on the night of September 23, both primary refining units at the plant—AVT-4 and AVT-5, each with a capacity of about 10,000 metric tons per day—were damaged.

The Novoshakhtinsk Oil Products Plant halted operations on September 25. This was reported by Yuriy Slyusar, governor of the Rostov region. According to him, the facility sustained damage. The plant has a capacity of about 3.3 million metric tons of oil per year and operates primarily for export, without supplying fuel to the Russian domestic market.

In total, seven Russian refineries have ceased operations since early September due to drone attacks.

On September 20, Gazprom Neft’s Moscow refinery—one of the main suppliers of gasoline to the Moscow region—shut down. On September 17, Yaroslavnefteorgsintez, which also supplies fuel to Moscow, halted operations.

On September 11 and 15, respectively, Rosneft’s Syzran and Saratov refineries—with a combined capacity of over 15 million metric tons of crude oil per year—shut down. The Ryazan refinery had already halted operations on September 6.

As a reminder, partisans destroyed a drone depot in the Sverdlovsk region of the Russian Federation.

Overnight, three regions in Russia came under attack simultaneously.

Drones also attacked the Iskra plant and the Perm oil refinery in Russia.
