Video: The Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a Russian Buk missile system worth $5 million

A video showing the destruction of an expensive Russian air defense system has been posted online.

Ukrainian soldiers from the 45th Separate Artillery Brigade used a HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system to destroy the launcher-loader unit of a “Buk” surface-to-air missile system.

The cost of the destroyed Russian equipment is estimated at approximately $5 million. Thus, the Ukrainian military inflicted significant losses on the enemy in terms of high-value weaponry.

The Russian launcher-loader unit was detected and destroyed thanks to the coordinated efforts of Ukrainian units working alongside forces from the Third Army Corps.

Footage has appeared online showing the destruction of a Russian launcher-loader and a powerful explosion.

The destruction of such air defense systems is of great importance to the Ukrainian Defense Forces, as Russian troops use “Buk” systems to cover their positions and counter Ukrainian weapons.
