Four people killed, six injured in attack on Kharkiv
The death toll from a Russian strike on a Nova Poshta terminal in a suburb of Kharkiv has risen to four, with six people injured.
This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.
“The number of people killed as a result of an enemy strike on the outskirts of Kharkiv has reached four. Six people have also sustained injuries of varying severity,” the regional governor wrote.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), the attack caused significant destruction to buildings, requiring extensive emergency rescue operations. Thirty people have already been rescued, two of whom were pulled from under the rubble.
“SES personnel rescued 30 people, including two who were extracted from beneath the debris of a destroyed building. Emergency rescue operations and firefighting are currently ongoing. Despite the constant threat of renewed enemy shelling, SES units continue working at the scene,” emergency services reported.
The Russian military carried out the strike on the night of 13 January. At the same time, a drone attack was also recorded in the regional centre, which led to a fire at a children’s sanatorium.
