The enemy attacked Ukraine: explosions heard in Dnipro and Fastiv near Kyiv
The Russian Federation attacked Ukraine again on the night of December 6. Alongside a massive drone raid, the enemy used ballistic missiles and Kinzhal missiles, with reports of strikes at least in Fastiv near Kyiv, Dnipro, and the surrounding regions.
The massive attack began in the evening. Initially, Russia launched swarms of drones from the north and east, and later strike drones also came from the occupied territories in the south.
As of 03:00, UAVs were still being recorded in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Odesa, and several other regions of Ukraine.
Around 01:20, a missile alert was issued across the country. First, Russia launched Kinzhal aero-ballistic missiles, followed by ballistic missiles. Explosions were heard in Kyiv, its region, Dnipro, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. About an hour later, the enemy launched a second wave of Kinzhal missiles.
Monitoring sources also reported new drone launches. Additionally, a cruise missile attack from Russian strategic aviation was expected in the early morning.
Kyiv and region
During the combined attack, explosions were heard in Kyiv. Local authorities reported the work of air defense, and the Air Force noted the flight of Kinzhal and ballistic missiles toward the capital. At the moment, there is no information on casualties or damage.
The final targets of the Kinzhal missiles may not have been Kyiv. At least Vadym Tokar, the mayor of Makariv in Kyiv Oblast, reported that explosions around 01:38 and 02:29 were the result of the ballistic wave from Kinzhal missiles flying further west.
Meanwhile, there are reports of strikes in Fastiv. According to “Ukrzaliznytsia,” railway infrastructure was hit.
As a result, passenger train routes that were supposed to pass through Fastiv are being changed urgently. Delays are being monitored, and dispatchers will provide for possible transfers, Ukrzaliznytsia promised.
It is likely that the Fastiv railway station was hit. There are also reports of large fires in Novi Petrivtsi near Kyiv.
Dnipro and region
Massive strikes were also reported by acting head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Vladyslav Haivanenko. According to him, Dnipro and its region were attacked, but he did not provide details.
According to the Air Force, the region was attacked by drones and ballistic missiles. Explosions were reported near Kryvyi Rih, most likely around the city of Zelenodolsk. At least Mayor Dmytro Neveselyi reported ballistic missile strikes on his Facebook. It should be noted that the Kryvorizka TPP is located in Zelenodolsk.
