Enemy attempts to break through to Northern Pokrovsk via industrial zone – video

Russian occupying forces have intensified attempts to storm the northern and northwestern parts of Pokrovsk, trying to secure positions in the city’s industrial area.

According to the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces (as of January 12, 2026), the enemy’s strategic goal in this sector is to accumulate reserves for a further advance toward the village of Hryshyne. Capturing this settlement would allow the occupiers to expand their bridgehead to encircle Pokrovsk from the west and cut off key logistics routes.

“The Russian army has stepped up attempts to infiltrate northern Pokrovsk, north of the railway, using assault groups,” – 7th Air Assault Corps.

Ukrainian defenders operate proactively, using artillery and strike drones to destroy assault groups before they reach the city. Drone interceptors play a key role in stopping the enemy, targeting Russian reconnaissance “wings” to prevent the enemy from adjusting fire and identifying weak points in Ukrainian defenses. There have been cases where Ukrainian forces had to blow up multi-story buildings along with occupiers attempting to establish firing positions there, denying the enemy a height advantage.

Current weather conditions, with a sharp cold snap, significantly complicate combat operations. Due to constant shelling and enemy drone activity, logistics in the Pokrovsk direction are now almost 80–90% supported by heavy unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and heavy quadcopters like the “Vampire.” This allows supplies such as warm clothing, ammunition, and heating equipment to be delivered to the front lines without risking drivers’ lives. Despite the challenging situation, Ukrainian command assures that logistical connections remain operational, and enemy attempts to encircle the city have so far been successfully stopped as of mid-January.

Ukrainian soldiers have repelled 46 attacks and destroyed over 200 occupiers on the Pokrovsk axis.

The settlement of Andriivka in Sumy Oblast is fully under Ukrainian Defense Forces control. Reports of the village being occupied by Russian forces are false, according to the “Kursk” grouping.
