The enemy attacked Ukraine with drones from several directions overnight
On the night of December 18, Russia once again attacked Ukraine, deploying 82 attack drones. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 63 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.
This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Air Force.
According to the military, from 6:00 p.m. on December 17 until the morning of December 18, the Russians launched 82 attack drones of the Shahed type, “Gerbera”, and other types of UAVs from the following directions: Millerovo, Kursk, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russian Federation). About 50 of them were Shahed drones.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:30, air defense systems shot down or suppressed 63 enemy UAVs, including Shahed, “Gerbera,” and other types of drones, in the north, south, east, and central regions of the country.
Nineteen attack drones were recorded hitting 12 locations, and debris from downed drones fell in 8 locations.
“The attack is ongoing, several enemy UAVs remain in Ukrainian airspace. Follow safety rules!” the Air Force warned.
During December 17, 134 combat engagements were recorded along the front line, mainly in the Pokrovsk direction.
As of December 18, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released updated statistics on Russian military losses since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
