Russia's daily casualties hit a record high, exceeding 2,000 — General Staff
Over the past day, Ukrainian forces have eliminated 2,090 Russian occupiers. According to the General Staff, this is one of the highest daily casualty figures for the Russian army.
As of September 28, Russia has lost the following in the war against Ukraine:
- personnel – approximately 1,531,060 (+2,090) individuals;
- tanks – 12,385 (+1);
- armored combat vehicles – 25,450 (+8);
- artillery systems – 50,477 (+49);
- multiple launch rocket systems – 2,165 (+2);
- air defense systems – 1,679 (+2);
- aircraft – 443 (+0);
- helicopters – 356 (+0);
- ground-based robotic systems – 2,774 (+12) units;
- operational-tactical UAVs – 537,228 (+1,382) units;
- cruise missiles – 5,118 (+0) units;
- ships/boats – 35 (+0);
- submarines – 2 (+0) units;
- Vehicles and tanker trucks – 154,735 (+490) units;
- specialized equipment – 4,763 (+7) units

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces damaged five workshops at a military plant in Russia.
On the night of September 26, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of key facilities on Russian territory that support the Russian military machine. Among them were the Azov Optical-Mechanical Plant in the Rostov Region and the “Ilsky” oil refinery in the Krasnodar Region.
As a reminder, the Perm Oil Refinery in Russia ceased operations following an attack by Ukrainian drones on September 25. According to Reuters, a fire broke out at the facility, and pipelines, storage tanks, and processing units were damaged. It is not yet known when the refinery will be able to resume operations.
