One person was killed and 15 were wounded in the past 24 hours due to Russian shelling in the Kherson region
Over the past 24 hours, Russian occupation forces carried out heavy shelling of the Kherson region, resulting in one death and 15 civilians sustaining injuries of varying severity. Forty-two settlements in the region came under enemy fire, including Antonivka, Sadove, Stanislav, Beryslav, Dudchany, Tyahynka, and the regional capital. A child was among those injured in the latest acts of aggression.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin. The Russian army used various types of weapons to strike residential neighborhoods and infrastructure facilities.
As a result of enemy activity, the civilian sector and social facilities sustained significant damage. Damage was recorded to 8 high-rise and 15 private residential buildings, a civil defense shelter, a service station, a gas station, as well as a minibus and several private vehicles belonging to local residents. Emergency services worked at the sites of the strikes to address the consequences of the attacks by Russian occupation forces.
On the night of May 17, Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down and neutralized 279 enemy drones out of 287 launched by Russian military units.
A 25-year-old woman was injured as a result of an enemy drone strike on a gas station in the Zaporizhzhia district.
