Photos of the aftermath of a strike on a high-rise building in Dnipro have emerged: there are critically injured victims
The first images have appeared online showing the destruction of a 14-storey residential building in Dnipro, which was attacked by Russian forces this morning.
The photos capture extensive damage to flats as well as the aftermath of a fire that engulfed the upper floors of the building.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, reported that the number of injured has risen to three people.
Medics are providing emergency care to the wounded, two of whom are in critical condition following the strike.
“Due to the Russian attack, walls, balconies, windows, and the technical floor of the building in Dnipro were damaged. Fires broke out on the top two floors,” Oleksandr Hanzha said while commenting on the published images.
Elderly residents of the building were among those most affected by the attack, as they were inside their homes at the time of the strike.
A 67-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man have been hospitalised with critical injuries.
The severely wounded have been diagnosed with closed head injuries, lacerations, and multiple shrapnel wounds across their bodies.
Doctors are doing everything possible to stabilise the patients, who were injured by the blast wave and falling debris.
The images show that the strike hit the upper section of the building, completely destroying the outer walls of several flats.
The fire that broke out on the technical floor caused heavy smoke throughout the residential area.
It is worth noting that Russian forces carried out another combined attack on Ukraine, using attack drones and cruise missiles.
Additionally, in Znamianka, 20 houses were damaged following a drone strike.
