The Ukrainian Armed Forces have debunked a Russian fake news story about the Vovchansk encirclement
Russian propaganda claims regarding the alleged capture of settlements in the Kharkiv region and the “closure of the Vovchansk encirclement” are untrue.
The statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense and the “Sever” military group regarding the alleged capture of Vasylivka, Dovzhanka, Blahodatne, and Slyzneve is yet another disinformation campaign launched on the eve of the State Duma elections. The 16th Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the enemy is attempting to push topics related to the internal crisis, energy problems, and discussions of a possible mobilization in Russia out of the public discourse.
Over the past six months, the Ukrainian military has prevented any loss of positions within its defense line and has also regained ground in the areas around the towns of Milove and Odradne.
Currently, Russian occupiers are attempting to infiltrate deep into the defensive lines in small infantry groups; however, Ukrainian units are promptly detecting the enemy and inflicting fire damage on them. Over the past week in this area of responsibility, the enemy has lost 154 soldiers killed in action and 124 wounded, as well as one multiple launch rocket system, four artillery pieces, 17 pieces of specialized equipment, and 43 vehicles.
