The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck Russian drone launch and control sites in Crimea

On the night of August 17, the Ukrainian military struck targets associated with the storage, preparation, and launch of attack drones, as well as their control systems, in Crimea and the Kherson region.

In Hvardiyiske, Crimea, a fire was reported following a strike on a facility used for storing, preparing, and launching drones.

In Novofedorivka, an “Orion” UAV ground control station was struck, and in Olenivka, a relay station used to control the “Geran” and “Gerbera” kamikaze drones was hit.

Additionally, on the Tendrivska Spit in the Kherson region, a communications and power supply station for a drone repeater was struck.

The extent of the damage inflicted on the Russians is currently being assessed.

As a reminder, the Orsk Oil Refinery in the Orenburg region of the Russian Federation completely halted operations following an attack by Ukrainian drones.

Freight transportation costs are rising in Russia due to the strikes on the refinery, according to Reuters.

As a reminder, the Russian oil refinery “Orsknefteorgsintez” halted oil processing following an attack by Ukrainian drones on August 11.
