The Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated more than 1,600 Russian occupiers over the past day
As of August 28, 2026, the Russian army’s casualties over the past 24 hours had risen by another 1,630 soldiers. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released the latest data.
As of August 28, Russia has lost the following in the war with Ukraine:
- personnel—approximately 1,483,780 (+1,630) individuals;
- tanks – 12,307 (+3);
- armored combat vehicles – 25,237 (+0);
- artillery systems – 48,749 (+55);
- multiple-launch rocket systems – 2,067 (+2);
- air defense systems – 1,593 (+3);
- aircraft – 440 (+0);
- helicopters – 354 (+0) units;
- ground-based robotic systems – 2,420 (+16) units;
- operational-tactical UAVs – 485,024 (+1,657) units;
- cruise missiles – 5,060 (+8) units;
- ships/boats – 35 (+0);
- submarines – 2 (+0) units;
- Vehicles and tanker trucks – 140,741 (+493) units;
- special-purpose vehicles – 4,604 (+2) units

Earlier, Russia launched a ballistic missile strike on a facility in Kryvyi Rih.
As a reminder, Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles.
Prior to that, Russia had attacked warehouses and energy facilities in the Odesa region.
