UAF liberated 5 villages in Dnipropetrovsk region
Fighters of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, together with units of the 20th Army Corps, have de-occupied the villages of Orestopil, Novoselivka, Sosnivka, Khoroshe, and Vorone, the 225th Regiment reported.
Offensive operations in this section of the front lasted over 100 days during the autumn of 2025. The command highlighted the uniqueness of the operation, as assault groups continuously held forward positions throughout the period, pushing Russian forces out of occupied territories.
The main striking force of the operation consisted of soldiers from the 3rd Assault Battalion, who, despite difficult conditions and enemy resistance, advanced the front line and secured new positions. The successful liberation of the villages improved the tactical position of Ukrainian forces in Dnipropetrovsk region and eliminated threats to nearby districts. According to the 225th Regiment, all participants in the liberation operation have been nominated for state awards for their heroism and resilience.
The situation in the liberated territories remains under Ukrainian control, while demining and clearing operations are ongoing to remove remaining Russian forces. The de-occupation of these lands resulted from coordinated efforts of infantry, artillery, and reconnaissance, which broke enemy defenses after three months of intensive fighting. Regaining control over these villages is a significant success for Ukrainian defenders on the eastern front at the end of 2025.
