Ukrainian civilians who were illegally detained by Russia and later released from captivity will receive a one-time financial aid of 50,000 hryvnias.
This was announced by the Minister of Economy, Yuliia Svyrydenko.

Individuals can submit an application to the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.

“The application must include a certificate from the Joint Center for the Coordination of the Search and Release of Prisoners of War and illegally detained persons due to aggression against Ukraine.
Civilians who were illegally detained and returned to Ukraine on their own must also provide a confirmation document recognizing them as victims in a criminal case. This can be obtained from law enforcement authorities,” the statement reads.

Svyrydenko explained that Ukrainians released from Russian captivity, regardless of official confirmation of deprivation of personal freedom due to armed aggression against Ukraine, will receive basic necessities such as food, hygiene products, seasonal clothing and shoes, and have the right to free legal, medical, and social assistance.

“Additionally, those released from captivity and family members of detainees, for whom the Commission has established the fact of deprivation of personal freedom due to armed aggression against Ukraine, are entitled to a one-time state aid of 100,000 hryvnias after release, as well as annual assistance of the same amount for each year spent in captivity. The right to annual assistance also applies to family members,” the Prime Minister said.

So far, nearly 12,000 such payments have been made, totaling around 1.2 billion hryvnias, of which 359 million hryvnias were one-time aid after release, and 818.7 million hryvnias were annual assistance.
