23rd China-ASEAN Expo to be held in Nanning in September
The 23rd China-ASEAN Expo will be held on September 17–21, 2026, in Nanning, in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southwestern China. Yan Dong, China’s vice minister of commerce, announced this at a press conference.
Free trade zone
According to the official, the event will focus on promoting the development of the China-ASEAN free trade zone to support high-quality economic growth in the region. The expo is also expected to highlight new results of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
As ECNS reports, trade between China and ASEAN exceeded $1 trillion for the first time in 2025, reaching $1.05 trillion. This was 7.4% higher than a year earlier.

Trade over seven months
According to China’s Ministry of Commerce, China has remained ASEAN’s largest trading partner for 17 consecutive years. At the same time, ASEAN has been China’s largest trading partner for six consecutive years.
In January–July 2026, trade turnover between China and ASEAN amounted to $744.41 billion, 24.7% higher than in the same period of the previous year. According to Yan, this trade accounted for 21.8% of China’s total foreign trade turnover during the period.
