Chisinau Airport Is Open Again After a Report of Explosives

Chisinau Airport has resumed operations following a report of a possible bomb threat. Specialized teams searched the premises but found no explosives or other suspicious items. The bomb threat was not confirmed.

Officials reported that specialized teams had completed their inspection of the grounds and facilities at Chisinau International Airport. Nothing suspicious was found during the search. “Specialized teams have completed their inspections. The report of a bomb threat at Chisinau Airport was not confirmed,” border guards reported. Due to the report of a possible explosive device, airport operations were temporarily restricted while specialists inspected the premises and ensured that passengers and employees were safe.

After the inspection was completed, the airport returned to normal operations. Passengers can continue their journeys, and the airport has resumed operations as usual. Thus, the bomb threat turned out to be false, and no explosives or other dangerous objects were found on the airport grounds. This was reported by NewsMaker, citing the Moldovan Border Police.

Near the Moldovan capital of Chisinau, law enforcement officers discovered debris from what is believed to be a drone. The night before, residents of the suburbs heard an explosion.
