Aliyev spoke about the construction of the "Trump Route" in the Zangezur Corridor
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev provided an update on the progress of the so-called “Trump Route” within the Zangezur Corridor. According to him, approximately 90% of the project’s highway is complete, while construction of the railway line is about 70% finished.
As the press service of the President of Azerbaijan told journalists, he spoke about this at a meeting of the heads of government of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States, reports "EP."
Aliyev expressed hope that the project would be fully implemented in the near future.
"As for the implementation of the Zangezur Corridor, the highway is nearly 90 percent complete, and the railway is about 70 percent complete. I hope that this project will be fully implemented in the near future," he noted.
Aliyev also added that construction of the Kars–Nakhchivan railway has begun in Turkey.
"Thus, cooperation and the coordinated implementation of these projects will open a new important international corridor," he said.
Earlier, we reported that Armenia is working with the U.S. on the “Trump Route” for international peace.
Armenia will not allowRussia to join the “Trump Route.”
Armenia has stated that the practical phase of implementing the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) project, including the start of construction work, is planned to begin in 2026.
Azerbaijan has sent fuel to Armenia for the first time in a decade.
