The body of a man has been found at an open-pit mine near Coober Pedy in South Australia. Police were called to the mining site, located south of the town's main area, on Thursday shortly before 9:30 a.m.
Death circumstances under investigation
The cause and circumstances of the man's death are currently unknown and are being investigated by police, ABC News reports. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Coober Pedy police are being assisted by detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Branch and forensic officers. Law enforcement officers are also to prepare a report for the coroner.
