Crystal Jade closes five establishments in Singapore — Channel NewsAsia
Singaporean Chinese restaurant chain Crystal Jade has closed five establishments in the country since the beginning of 2026. The latest to cease operations were the brand’s Hong Kong Kitchen restaurants at The Clementi Mall and Jurong Point in Singapore.
Latest closures
The establishment at The Clementi Mall ended operations on September 15, while the restaurant at Jurong Point closed on September 18. As Channel NewsAsia reports, the company confirmed these decisions in a statement.
Crystal Jade said the closures are part of an ongoing review of the group’s operations. This process may involve other steps, including the closure of additional establishments. Details are promised to be communicated to the relevant stakeholders in due course.
Employees were offered transfers
Employees affected by the closures were informed directly. The company said it is offering them transfers to other positions within the group where possible.

Earlier in September, Crystal Jade closed its restaurant at Great World, which operated until September 1. During the year, the chain’s establishments at Hillion Mall and Suntec City also ceased operations. In June 2025, the Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao restaurant in Holland Village closed after two decades of operation in the area.
Thirteen restaurants remain in the chain
Following the latest closures, the Crystal Jade website lists 13 restaurants in Singapore operating under six brands. The Hong Kong Kitchen brand has four remaining locations: at Causeway Point, Takashimaya Shopping Centre, One Holland Village and Tampines 1.
Crystal Jade was founded in Singapore in 1991. At its peak in 2015, the group had 120 restaurants worldwide, 47 of which operated in Singapore. Some of the chain’s establishments received Michelin recognition.
