The Epstein Files Have Triggered a New Investigation in the U.S. — NBC

The U.S. Department of Justice has faced intense pressure and launched internal investigations following serious errors made during the release of documents related to the case of the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.

This was reported by NBC News.

Due to technical and human errors, the personal data of nearly 100 victims of sexual abuse was made publicly available, sparking a wave of lawsuits against the agency.

The scandal erupted in February 2026 when the victims’ attorneys discovered that thousands of pages of documents contained improperly redacted names and personal information.

In response, the Department of Justice was forced to urgently remove a significant amount of material from its official website for re-editing.

“We immediately corrected the situation every time we received a report from a victim or her lawyer regarding improper redaction of a name,” said Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.

However, representatives of the victims emphasize that due to this leak, the lives of many women who had tried to remain anonymous for years were once again shattered.

Currently, a special oversight body (the Office of the Inspector General) is conducting a thorough review of the agency’s operating protocols.

Investigators are examining why the system for verifying confidential information failed during the processing of approximately 3.5 million pages of archives that U.S. President Donald Trump ordered to be declassified under the Freedom of Information Act.

In addition to privacy violations, the released files contained shocking details about the possible involvement of third parties in the Epstein network.

Human rights advocates note that the documents point to a systematic cover-up of human trafficking by officials in recent years, which only exacerbates public distrust of the law enforcement system.

Following the release of Epstein’s archives, his victims once again feel betrayed

One of the most high-profile scandals in the modern history of the monarchy has erupted in Norway. New documents from the Jeffrey Epstein case revealed years of personal correspondence between Crown Princess Mette-Marit and a man who later became a symbol of global sexual violence.

In the U.S., the Jeffrey Epstein case is back in the spotlight following the release of a photo showing former President Bill Clinton in a hot tub with other people.

Two months before Jeffrey Epstein’s arrest in 2019, a witness told investigators that he deliberately sought out underage girls and even checked their IDs. This is detailed in newly released documents.
