Ghana will host the 16th Friends of Africa African Economic Summit on September 17–18, 2026. The event will take place at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra under the theme “Building a Sustainable Future: Scaling Investment Partnerships in Ghana.”

According to MyJoyOnline, the organizers expect business leaders, government representatives, investors, entrepreneurs, startup founders, and professionals to attend. The summit is intended to focus on strengthening investment partnerships and creating practical opportunities for economic growth.

Friends of Africa has held economic summits in North America for 15 years. The organizers describe the Ghana edition of the event as an attempt to share this experience with African partners, starting with Ghana.

Summit program

Informal Friends of Africa sessions will take place on September 16–17 and will include one-on-one meetings with startup founders. A closed reception for speakers and sponsors is also scheduled for September 17.

A pitch competition involving 40 startups will be held as part of the summit. They will present their proposals to investors and funding groups and compete for seed capital.

The organizers also plan a platform for selected Canadian companies seeking partners in Ghana. In addition to the business program, the event is intended to showcase Ghanaian cuisine, music, and entrepreneurial talent.

The Ghana summit is led by Professor Odoi Yemoh, chair of the African Economic Summit Committee, Ghana 2026, and Nardos Sebro, head of partnerships and sponsors at Friends of Africa-Global.
