Nepal's foreign minister thanks UAE for commitment to provide $25 million in aid — Kathmandu Post
In New York, United States, Nepalese Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal met with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and thanked the UAE for humanitarian assistance to flood victims. As Kathmandu Post reports, the UAE recently committed to provide Nepal with an additional $25 million in financial assistance.
Meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly
The talks took place at the UAE Permanent Mission to the UN on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. On behalf of the government and people of Nepal, Khanal expressed gratitude to the government and people of the UAE for their solidarity with communities affected by devastating floods caused by climate factors.
He also thanked the Emirates for substantial humanitarian assistance to the affected communities. The ministers discussed strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and the UAE and cooperation on labor, trade, investment, tourism, renewable energy, connectivity, and multilateral engagement within the UN.

Talks with Armenia
Separately, Khanal held a meeting in New York with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. According to Nepal's Permanent Mission to the UN in New York, the sides exchanged views on further strengthening friendly and cooperative bilateral relations.
The ministers also emphasized the need to expand mutually beneficial cooperation. According to Nepal's Foreign Ministry, its areas include climate action, renewable energy, information technology, and engagement on multilateral platforms.
