Iran says it will respond to new US attacks, traffic through Strait of Hormuz declines
Iran said at the beginning of the week that it was ready to respond to any new US attacks. Against this backdrop, the number of commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz fell to seven on Monday, compared with eight a day earlier.
Warning over energy facilities
Iran also warned that energy infrastructure in the Persian Gulf countries, including US oil and gas assets, is vulnerable. The Jerusalem Post cites vessel-tracking data from Kpler.
Kpler noted that these calculations do not include vessels that may pass through the straits with their transponders switched off. Therefore, such vessels are not reflected in the reported figures.

Traffic through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait
At the same time, traffic through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, another important route for commercial vessels, increased. According to Kpler, 29 commercial vessels passed through it on Monday, compared with 17 the previous day.
Goldman Sachs also raised its forecasts for Brent and West Texas Intermediate oil prices for December 2026 and 2027. The bank expects disruptions to shipping in the Middle East to persist next year.
