Spain screened nearly 200 passengers arriving from Italy — Reuters
On the first day of the reinstatement of temporary border controls, Spain screened 199 passengers arriving from Italy at the country’s six largest airports.
This was reported by the Spanish Ministry of the Interior. The checks were conducted on 12 flights from Italy to airports in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Bilbao, Alicante, and Valencia.
Spain reinstated temporary controls at its internal borders following a dispute with Italy over illegal migration. The checks apply to travelers arriving from Italy at Spanish ports and airports.
The restrictions are in effect from 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, until 12:00 a.m. on September 7. However, the timeframe may be adjusted if the circumstances that led to the introduction of the controls change.

According to Fortune, citing the Associated Press, police began conducting random checks of Italians upon their arrival at Barcelona Airport.
