Israel supported the U.S.-led blockade of Iranian ports – BBC

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has officially endorsed President Donald Trump’s decision to impose a naval blockade against Iran.

This was reportedby the BBC, citing a video message from the Israeli prime minister. Netanyahu emphasized that such a firm stance is a necessary response to the results of recent negotiations with Tehran.

According to the prime minister, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance briefed him in detail on the progress of the diplomatic process during a conversation aboard an airplane. The main demands of the American side remain a complete halt to uranium enrichment and the removal of all stockpiled nuclear materials from Iran. The blockade is viewed as a tool of pressure to achieve these strategic security goals.

Israeli leadership emphasizes the importance of decisive action by Washington after negotiations failed to yield the desired result. Netanyahu noted that coordination between the U.S. and Israel remains close to prevent a nuclear threat from Russia and its allies in the region. Currently, support for the blockade is part of a joint strategy to limit Tehran’s influence in the Middle East.
