Israel Faces Isolation as More Countries Recognize Palestine

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a combative speech at the U.N. General Assembly, denouncing the recognition of Palestine by more than 150 countries. He called the move “disgraceful” and warned that establishing a Palestinian state would be “national suicide” for Israel. The speech took place in a largely empty hall as many diplomats boycotted his remarks.

Netanyahu insisted that Israel “will not allow a terror state to be shoved down its throat” and vowed to “finish the job” against Hamas in Gaza. He criticized Western nations, including Britain, France, and Canada, for recently recognizing Palestine. The sparse attendance underscored Israel’s growing diplomatic isolation on the world stage.
During his address, the prime minister recalled the victims of Hamas attacks and the hostages still held in Gaza. He argued that the war could end immediately if Hamas released the captives and disarmed. Despite mounting international pressure and accusations of war crimes, Netanyahu declared that Israel would “continue to hunt down its enemies” in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran.
