Kadyrov received a medal "for the advancement of science"

Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, has been awarded the medal "For Contributions to the Development of Science."

He announced this on his Telegram channel.

The award was presented by Jambulat Umarov, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Chechen Republic. Kadyrov became the first person to receive this award, though the specific scientific achievements or projects for which he was honored were not specified.

According to available data, this is at least Kadyrov’s 38th award since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

This is not the first time Ramzan Kadyrov has been recognized for achievements in the scientific field. Specifically:

  • in 2017, he received the Blokhin Medal for “outstanding work” in the field of oncology;
  • in 2021, he received the Avicenna Order for his contribution to the development of medicine;
  • in 2022, he received the Order “For Merit in Dentistry,” First Class.

Since the start of the war against Ukraine, Kadyrov’s collection of awards has grown by at least 13 honors from various organizations. Among them are the Order of the Kurchatov Institute and the “Centaur” badge from the Council of Chief Architects of Russia.

In addition, he received ten departmental awards, including the titles of “Honored Worker of the Agro-Industrial Complex” and “Outstanding Emergency Medical Worker,” which were awarded within a few days of each other.

Kadyrov has also been awarded the title of Hero of Chechnya twice. Separately, he has been honored with a number of Russian state awards, including the Orders “For Merit to the Fatherland” of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th degrees, the Order of Alexander Nevsky, and the Orders of Courage and Honor.

These awards were presented to him by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In addition, Kadyrov holds medals “For the Protection of Human Rights” and for strengthening Russia’s penal system.

As a reminder, Chechnya’s pro-Kremlin leader Ramzan Kadyrov has stated that he opposes continuing negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.

Recall that Kadyrov’s son is threatening to bring Zelenskyy to Grozny.

Also, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov appointed his 20-year-old son Akhmat as acting deputy head of the republic’s government.
