Canada has no plans to participate in military operations against Iran — Foreign Minister

Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand stated that her country has no intention of joining military operations against Iran.

She made this statement in an interview with Bloomberg.

According to Anand, Canada was not consulted prior to the start of the offensive operation.

She emphasized that Ottawa did not participate in these actions and does not plan to do so.

“We did not participate and do not intend to participate,” the minister noted.

Anand emphasized that the actions of NATO allies are aimed at defense and deterrence.

“These are the principles we will adhere to as we make all decisions together with our NATO allies,” she added.

At the same time, the minister reported that Canada is working with a small group of countries to promote de-escalation, as well as to protect civilians and critical infrastructure.
