Canadian coach Guy Boucher, who heads the Russian hockey club Avangard, commented on the drone attack on Yaroslavl. According to him, the team was unable to leave the city and heard drones flying nearby. The incident occurred during a series of playoff games in the 2025/2026 season of the Kontinental Hockey League, where Avangard was playing against the local Lokomotiv team.
This is reported by Russian media.
In the end, the Yaroslavl team emerged victorious.
“Again, the loss is unpleasant, painful, plus we’re stuck in Yaroslavl, hearing drones flying nearby. Of course, I’ve never seen anything like this in my life before. Some flashes... What an experience. It’s one thing when it happens far away, but here you see it with your own eyes,” Russian propagandists quote Bouche as saying.
After the drone attack, tanks were on fire at the Gorky station in Moscow.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has leveled yet another set of accusations against Ukraine, claiming that drones attacked a tanker that was in the territorial waters of the aggressor country.
In France, a tanker from Russia’s “shadow fleet” was released after paying a fine.
Russia is using its navy to protect tankers subject to sanctions.
