The Houthis said that Saudi Arabia carried out the strike on a market at the Mawiya intersection in Yemen’s Taiz province. According to the Houthi-controlled Ministry of Health, seven people were killed and another 40 were injured in the strikes. Children were among the casualties, according to these data.
Houthi statements
As the Jerusalem Post reports, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said that the attack on Sunday was allegedly carried out by a squadron of Saudi F-15 fighter jets. The Houthis accused Saudi Arabia of a crime against civilians. Saree also warned that the bloodshed at the Mawiya market would have serious consequences for Saudi Arabia.
In addition, the Houthis claim that Saudi Arabia attacked four sites in Al-Jawf province. They did not provide information about those killed or injured as a result of this operation.

Yemen government’s position
Later, Yemen’s internationally recognized government said that its forces had struck a Houthi military camp and vehicles at the same Mawiya intersection. Three military sources in government forces told Reuters that Houthi militants had recently set up a military camp near the market.
Thus, the Houthis and Yemen’s internationally recognized government describe differently who was responsible for the strike and what its target was. The figures on the number of killed and injured were provided by the Houthi-controlled Ministry of Health.
